We get asked a lot by "industry insiders" how bands get noticed, and we usually mumble something about 'cash in hand' or 'free dinner' because honestly this business is all chance. Take Brooklyn's Amazing Baby, who in the course of a couple days got three songs on RCRD LBL, played a show at Mercury Lounge and had Mark Ronson going on about how great they were. And now we're going to post a fourth demo from them because it has a title that's been a part of the FADER lexicon for years (eg Yo can I get a sip of that?…Pump your breaks, ma.). So there's the formula. Write great songs, get them on a major blog, play a big New York show that Mark Ronson is at and then sit back and collect the royalties. All that said, Amazing Baby, despite having limited experience is pretty damn consistent with the psych-pop-shroom jawns, so stay tuned.
