This post was initially supposed to be a pick of all the awesome things we saw at the Archetype Showroom fall preview. But honestly there was just too much awesomeness to squish in to one post. For sanity's sake I've narrowed it down to two of our favorite labels: Fremont and Samantha Pleet. That's Devin and Brittany who split men/womens designing duties on Fremont up top.
Samantha Pleet
The new Samantha Pleet collection was inspired by turn of the century mugshots. For her lookbook Samantha asked all her models to pick an appropriate crime for themselves (that's her in look 1 on the website) and what with all the all the marvelously mischievous pieces in the collection-- the leopard "hellcat" coat, striped "jailbird" romper and our favorite, the "deflowered" shirt--it won't take much persuading from Sam for us to get devious this fall. She has a ton of new projects in the pipeline, including an eco collection and a menswear collection designed in partnership with her husband, Patrick Pleet (more about that later) so what you see here is really just a sampling of things to come.
Fremont
Brittany and Devin of Fremont have been Fader homies since Mobolaji (contributing FADER style editor and professional Jetsetter) spotted their wares many moons ago at a tradeshow in the Nevada desert bka Project, Vegas. I own one of their perfectly proportioned white linen jumpers from their very first season, quite possibly my favorite piece of clothing ever, simply because it makes me feel like I could grow up and actually become Bianca Jagger one day. There are, without fail, always one of two amazing onesies in the girl's Fremont collection--this season our pick is a denim jumper that crops just right at the ankle. Devin has been toiling tirelessly on the men's collection which has all the right stylish surprises for fall--waxed cotton coats, super soft leather jackets, and faded raw black denim.
