Master P says C-Murder is on a prison hunger strike

C-Murder is protesting prison conditions while serving life for a murder he says he did not commit.

Corey Miller, the New Orleans rapper known as C-Murder, is on a hunger strike in Angola prison, according to his brother Percy Miller a.k.a. Master P. In 2009 Corey Miller was sentenced to life in prison in the 2002 club shooting of Steve Thomas in Harvey, Louisiana. He has maintained his innocence, and on Wednesday evening Master P addressed his brother's case in an Instagram video.

In the clip, playing above via XXL, Master P claims there's evidence proving C-Murder's innocence. "The club have a camera [that] shows who's the shooter, and also somebody confessed to the crime." He also mentions his intention to meet with the warden of Angola.

C-Murder announced the hunger strike last week. He says that he and other inmates are protesting prison conditions and officials.

One of the foundational members of No Limit Records, C-Murder's debut album Life or Death was released in 1998 and went on to sell over a million copies. In 2017, he was ordered to pay $1.15 million to the family of Steve Thomas after being found liable for his death in a civil trail.
