According to ESPN, Wale has been declared the "Creative Liaison" for his hometown NBA team, the Washington Wizards—a beneficial partnership that already seems to be working out on Wale's part, since a remix of his single "Ambition" has been playing during warmups. Another part of that new gig appears to involve bringing Kanye's creative talents on board. "I'm not going to do anything corny," says Wale, "but I'm talking to Kanye about designing new uniforms."
This isn't Wale's first sartorial act of generosity at The Phone Booth, as the Wizards' venue is known: back in November, the rapper handed off a pair of his own signed Jordans to a lucky fan in the bleachers. He wants to keep that vibe popping, telling ESPN, "My job is to provide a spark… I want to see The Phone Booth rocking every time I come here." Wale predicts the allure of a free pair of signed kicks will eventually translate into genuine enthusiasm from the fan base, adding, "even if you're coming to a game for the wrong reasons, like trying to win a pair of shoes or something, I want you into it."
