In a message to fans, drummer Philip Selway said, “Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us. It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”

Tickets to see Radiohead will be available via registration on Radiohead’s website. Registration opens at 5 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (10 a.m. British Summer Time) on Friday, September 5 and will close 72 hours later.

While Radiohead haven't performed together since 2018, the individual band members have remained active. Thom Yorke and lead guitarist Jonny Greenwood formed The Smile while guitarist Ed O’Brien and Selway both released solo albums.

In addition to their non-Radiohead ventures, attention has also fallen on the band's politics, specifically in relation to the ongoing war in Gaza. Radiohead performed in Tel Aviv, Israel on their last tour and Greenwood also performed in the city in May 2024 and March 2025 alongside Israeli musician Dudu Tassa, with whom he collaborated on the 2023 album Jarak Qaribak.

Both performances drew condemnation from pro-Palestinian activists. Greenwood canceled another scheduled performances in the U.K. this year after reports of threats to the artists were made. Speaking at the time, Greenwood said he and Tassa “dread the weaponisation of this cancellation by reactionary figures as much as we lament its celebration by some progressives.”

Yorke, meanwhile, walked off stage during a performance in Melbourne, Australia in 2024 after being heckled by a pro-Palestine protester. In May of this year he released a statement in which he said he was upset to see that his “supposed silence" was "somehow being taken as complicity,” and criticizing Psraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government as "totally out of control."

Prior to the tour's official announcement, the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel called on fans to boycott the "rumoured" Radiohead shows in protest over Greenwood’s performance in Tel Aviv.

“Even as Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza reaches its latest, most brutal and depraved phase of induced starvation, Radiohead continues with its complicit silence, while one member repeatedly crosses our picket line, performing a short drive away from a livestreamed genocide, alongside an Israeli artist that entertains genocidal Israeli forces,” a statement from the group reads.

“Palestinians reiterate our call for the boycott of Radiohead concerts, including its rumoured tour, until the group convincingly distances itself, at a minimum, from Jonny Greenwood’s crossing of our peaceful picket line during Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”
