Rio Da Yung OG has dropped his first new music since being released from prison this week. "Rio Free" arrives alongside a video showing the Flint, Michigan rapper enjoying his first day of freedom, jumping in a private jet and hanging out with his kids. Scroll down to watch it now.

According to Pitchfork, Rio will complete his sentence via “community confinement” after serving three years of a five-year sentence. He began his prison sentence in 2021 after agreeing to plead guilty to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. His projected release date from custody is Saturday, July 12, 2025, to be followed by 18 months of supervised release.

Entering prison didn't stop Rio from releasing new music, with projects including Fiend Lives Matter, The F Tape, and Rio Circa 2020 all arriving in the past few years. He will celebrate his release with a homecoming concert at Detroit’s Masonic Temple on January 11.
