Grammys 2024: Taylor Swift wins Album of the Year
Taylor Swift’s Midnights beat out albums by Jon Batiste, boygenius, Lana Del Rey, Janelle Monáe, and SZA.
Taylor Swift has won the award for Album of the Year at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for her 2023 project Midnights. The other nominees in the category were Jon Batiste (World Music Radio), boygenius (The Record), Miley Cyrus (Endless Summer Vacation), Lana Del Rey (Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd), Janelle Monáe (The Age of Pleasure), Olivia Rodrigo (GUTS), and SZA (SOS).
2023 was a banner year for Taylor Swift, with her “Eras” tour and its subsequent concert film achieving record sales. Swift was nominated for six awards at the 2024 Grammys, also winning Best Pop Vocal Album.
This year, the Recording Academy reduced the number of nominees in the “big four” categories — Album, Song, and Record of the Year, and Best New Artist — from 10 candidates to 8 after increasing the number in 2022. Eilish received six nominations at the 2024 show.
The 66th Annual Grammy Awards is taking place on February 4, 2023, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
