Watch Baby’s Keem’s The Melodic Blue short film
Directed by Savannah Setten and co-starring Keem and Amandla Stenberg, the 20-minute short is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
Last month, Baby Keem announced a filmed companion piece to his 2022 album The Melodic Blue, out on December 5. The 20-minute short is now available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime.
The new visuals are directed by Savannah Setten, the London-based filmmaker who collaborated with Keem on his 2021 music video for "no sense," and stars Keem and Amandla Sternberg. The plot synopsis, per a press release: "Keem’s internal battle leads us through fragments of memory and temptation as he navigates the depths of The Melodic Blue." The Melodic Blue is presented by Eerie Times, Amazon Music, and pgLang, the creative studio co-founded by Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free.
This year, Keem and Lamar teamed up for a new song called "The Hillbillies" and performed under the name at Camp Flog Gnaw 2023. The song is nominated in the Best Rap Performance category at the 2024 Grammys against tracks by Black Thought ("Love Letter"), Drake and 21 Savage (“Rich Flex”) Killer Mike featuring André 3000, Future, Eryn Allen Kane ("Scientists and Engineers”), and Coi Leray (“Players”).
