Listen to Jean Dawson and SZA’s “No SZNs”
A new duet between the rising star and the SOS vocalist.
Jean Dawson has dropped "No SZNs," a new collaboration with SZA. In a statement shared with Rolling Stone, Dawson said "the song poses a question then answers that question upon completion. This song allowed me to ask myself what I’m afraid of in my own physical voice and what it is I have to say to anyone that deems my music worth listening to.
"I then answered that question with the nature of my desire to hide from myself to speak in riddles so my perspectives aren’t challenged,” he continued. “They are incomplete or incoherent expressions to allow me to be uncomfortably straightforward while subverting its own or my own implied profundity. The song itself is simple in my mind."
Last month Dawson shared “NO SCOPE,” “X-RAY” and “VEXED” as the second installment in his JEAN DAWSON AS… trilogy. They continue a hot streak for the Mexican-American artist that hit a high point with his 2022 album CHAOS NOW*. He is due to open for Lil Yachty’s as his Field Trip Tour makes its way across Europe this fall.
SZA, meanwhile, recently shared new songs with Drake and Justin Bieber.
