Troye Sivan is horny as hell in “Got Me Started”
The single will be on the singer’s forthcoming album, Something To Give Each Other.
Troye Sivan has delivered the latest offering from his upcoming album, Something To Give Each Other. "Got Me Started" is the project's second single, following the successful "Rush", which was also remixed by PinkPantheress and Hyunjin.
The dancefloor-ready track features Sivan singing about wanting to go home with somebody over a nostalgic beat. It was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick, who samples Bag Raiders' 2011 hit "Shooting Stars" for the single.
“When we were writing this song, I was emphatic about using ‘Shooting Stars’ — I just kept humming it in the studio," Sivan said in a press statement. "It’s a huge sample and was a big ask; and I knew that they had never approved it in the past. So I’m over the moon about the opportunity to sample that track because this song is iconic to me. And then we have Ian Kirkpatrick on production, who is a genius. I love his work - he had this plan to record the vocal at a slower speed and then speed it up, and ultimately that’s what you hear in the chorus. I instantly loved the way it sounded.”
The Gordon von Steiner-directed music video shows Sivan exploring Bangkok's streets and clubs in eye-catching fits, switching from wearing sequins to a highlighter yellow construction vest. The visual also includes cameos from Bangkok-based PP Krit as well as famed international drag queens Miss Gimhuay, Angele, Gigi, Anne Maywong, and Gawdland. Watch it and stream the song below.
"Got Me Started" will appear on Sivan's new album, Something To Give Each Other, which is set to arrive on October 13.
