Dance music publication Mixmag adds Ukraine office
The doors will open tomorrow on Ukrainian Independence Day.
Mixmag, a United Kingdom-based media company focused on dance music, is expanding. As reported by Pitchfork and confirmed to The FADER, a new office is set to open tomorrow (August 24) in Kyiv, in celebration of the nation’s Independence Day. Mixmag Ukraine will partner with music agency Go West to publish digital, social, and video content surrounding the country’s electronic music scene.
“Mixmag is devoted to global electronic music and club culture,” the company’s digital director and editor, Patrick Hinton, tells The FADER. “Having offices around the world from South America to East Asia allows us to cover local scenes authentically and help the spread of dance music internationally. We are excited for Mixmag Ukraine to join our worldwide network and provide a new platform to support the country’s inspiring dance music community and club scene, which is rightly recognised as one of the best on the planet.”
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Mixmag closed its New York office and indefinitely moved its central operations to the U.K. As Hinton notes above, the company hosts multiple sister publications across the globe.
