Paramore cancel remaining tour dates, citing health concerns
The band’s lead singer, Hayley Williams, is recovering from a lung infection that’s “past the point of wanting to push through,” in her words.
Paramore will be cutting short their North American tour behind This is Why, citing concerns about Hayley Williams' continuing recovery from a lung infection. The lead singer posted a message to the band's Twitter announcing the cancellation of two shows in Portland, Oregon and Salt Lake City, Utah, which were originally postponed to this week. Refunds, she says, will be available at point of purchase.
"I have been doing everything I can to fight this infection so we wouldn't have do disappoint anyone with more news of postponements and cancellations," Williams wrote. "After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we're now realizing that it's past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for you. She now risks "long term damage" if she continues performing. Read the full message below.
Next year, Paramore are slated to open for Taylor Swift on the Europe 2024 leg of her "Eras" tour.
