Watch LORD JAH-MONTE OGBON celebrate his 30th birthday with a new music video
“Angela Bassett>>>” is the first single from his upcoming album, I’VE NVR BEEN BETTER, dropping exclusively on vinyl.
Charlotte-based LORD JAH-MONTE OGBON is commemorating his 30th birthday today (June 5) with a new song and music video. “Angela Bassett>>>” is the first single of his forthcoming, vinyl-only album, I’VE NVR BEEN BETTER, which will be available for purchase on July 5th.
“A few days ago while in Atlanta I had this idea that I should do a music video centered around my 30th birthday,” he wrote on Instagram. “So the first thing I did was message @ubuntugraphics & @mrlo__ like ‘yo I have this idea if we can pull it off.’ Them being the geniuses they are, they easily understood the assignment and helped me bring this vision to life.”
In the DIRTY ART CLUB-produced track, JAH-MONTE makes clever quips about celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Steve-O, but he surprisingly doesn't mention the eponymous Oscar award nominee Angela Bassett. As the song goes on, he continues to celebrate his life and career, honoring the accomplishments he’s made in the rap game. Watch the full Mike Norman-directed visual above.
