Rico Nasty shares 100 gecs-produced “Turn It Up”
The Baltimore rapper returns with her first new material of the year.
Rico Nasty has dropped a new song called “Turn It Up” alongside a video in which she plays a maid whose access to the home she’s cleaning might not be entirely kosher. Scroll down to check it out now.
“Turn It Up” is produced by 100 gecs and captures two of Rico Nasty’s lyrical preoccupations; making money and taking care of her son. “I just put the cash in the stash / Why you looking on my page and you ain’t even wash your ass,” she raps over a heavily distorted, metronomic beat. “I got check now I don’t know to act / At my new crib playin with my son in the grass.”
The new song follows the release of Las Ruinas, Rico Nasty’s most recent project, which she dropped last July. The tape featured the singles “Black Punk,” “Intrusive,” “Skullflower,” and “Blow Me.”
