slowthai talked to The FADER’s David Renshaw ahead of the release of new album UGLY.
slowthai is this week’s guest on The FADER Interview podcast. The U.K. rapper joined The FADER’s David Renshaw to discuss the making of his third album UGLY ahead of its release on Friday, March 3. The main focus of their conversation was on the positive message he wants to spread with his new project, an indie rock-leaning album written with collaborators including Fontaines DC and Shygirl. In addition to making new music, however, slowthai has also modeled in recent campaign for Homer, Frank Ocean’s luxury goods company.

“I don’t know, it’s like a friendship innit. How’d you meet your mates? You meet people and you either get along with them or not. He is someone I’ve always appreciated their art, and then outside of it, he’s a lovely person. He’s someone out of everyone that I played the album to, he was, like, the one person that when I played it made me feel like he was gassed! And he is someone whose opinion I respect the most. Seeing how he reacted… But then, stuff like that, man. It’s not even for everybody to know. It’s like that’s the way it is, bro.”
