Here are some scary pictures to distract the religious right from Sam Smith and Kim Petras
Boo! Ahh! Don’t let ’em get ya!
Last night, Sam Smith and Kim Petras brought their hit "Unholy" to the Grammy Awards for a performance that has set off evangelicals, right-wingers, and those who believe that Pfizer is somehow connected to Lucifer. It was pretty silly. The whole thing was more benign than Lil Nas X twerking on Satan. It had a real Spirit Halloween vibe to it.
Still, in the interests of distracting the religious right from Smith and Petras, and focusing their attention on much bigger threats to Christendom, I’ve found some images that are much scarier than the “Unholy” performance:
“Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart. (1 Samuel 12:20)
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. (Proverbs 3:7).
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. (1 John 5:19)
Reject every kind of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22)
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. (Isaiah 5:20).
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. (John 3:20).
The Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” (Job 1:7)
