FLO named winners of BBC Sound 2023 poll
The London-based trio finished ahead of electronic artists Fred Again.. and Nia Archives in the annual list.
R&B girl group FLO have been named the winner of BBC Music’s Sound of 2023 Poll. The annual poll is aimed at predicting which artists will make the biggest impact in the upcoming year. Previous winners include Sam Smith, Florence and The Machine, and PinkPantheress.
Runners-up this year included dance producer Fred Again.. and producer Nia Archives. The full longlist, announced in December, can be seen here.
Speaking on their win, FLO said: “We feel so connected to our British music roots winning the BBC Sound Of and admire the artists who have come before us, especially our gal Pinkpantheress winning last year! Thank you to everyone who voted for us and put girl groups back on the map”
FLO's debut EP The Lead was released in September and featured on The FADER's list of the Best Albums of 2022. The group first emerged with their single "Cardboard Box" and shared the singles "Not My Job" and "Losing You" towards the end of last year.
