Phoebe Bridgers shares abortion story, asks supporters to donate to pro-choice organizations
She shared her experience at Planned Parenthood after reports emerged that the Supreme Court is poised to end abortion protections in the United States.
On Monday, news emerged that the Supreme Court has the votes to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that protected abortion rights across the United States. While the decision isn't official yet, forced birth activists and women's rights advocates alike are preparing for Roe to disappear within two months. The day following the decision's leak, Phoebe Bridgers shared her own experiences with abortion, as Pitchfork points out.
"I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour," Bridgers wrote. "I went to planned parenthood where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access." Bridgers concluded her tweet with a link to The Cut's list of abortion funds.
In October, Bridgers shared a cover of Bo Burnham's "That Funny Feeling" with proceeds going towards Texas Abortion Funds.
