Adele to embark on 2022 Las Vegas residency
“Weekends with Adele” mark her first live dates since releasing new album 30.
Adele has confirmed details of an upcoming 2022 Las Vegas residency. The British singer, whose huge-selling new album 30 was released earlier this month, will perform at Caesers Palace’s Colosseum every Friday and Saturday from January 21 until April 16. The residency has been dubbed "Weekends with Adele" by organizers.
Despite being one of the world's biggest and best-selling pop stars, Adele is not a regular live performer and has said she is unlikely to tour 30 extensively due to the global pandemic.
Speaking to fellow musician John Mayer in a recent Sirius XM interview Adele said she was "actually desperate to tour, which for me is wild because I don’t like touring..." but that she likely won't hit the road any time soon. “This album? No, probably not,” she told Mayer. "It doesn’t sit right with me putting an album out this year and then touring it in 2023.”
Speaking to Rolling Stone, meanwhile, she pointed to the ongoing pandemic as making live plans problematic. “It’s too unpredictable, with all the rules and stuff,” she said. “I don’t want anyone coming to my show scared. And I don’t want to get Covid, either.”
