Watch Waxahatchee and her powerful sleeves perform “Lilacs” on Kimmel

Katie Crutchfield brought her justifiably esteemed indie-rock project Waxahatchee to Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. Her late-night TV debut was marked with a spirited performance of her song "Lilacs," a twangy ballad full of surreal imagery and steadfast love. Major Murphy, a band out of Grand Rapids, backed her for the song, surrounded by lovely bouquets of flowers and foliage. The star decoration, however, has to be Crutchfield's lavender gown, with its elegant-yet-comfortable looking sleeves. Just great. "Lilacs" appears on Waxahatchee's 2020 album Saint Cloud, No. 38 on our favorite albums of the year.
