Brittany Howard covers Nina Simone’s “Revolution” on Colbert
The singer recently nabbed five Grammy nominations.
On the heels of her five 2021 Grammy nominations, Brittany Howard took to the stage on last night's episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, performing her rendition of Nina Simone's "Revolution". Howard and her band added a bluesy-rock take on Simone's 1969 track, the singer bounding across the stage in an all-red ensemble.
On Tuesday, Howard was nominated for a number of awards for the 2021 Grammys, including Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for her song “Stay High,” Best R&B Performance for “Goat Head,” Best American Roots Performance for “Short and Sweet," and Best Alternative Music Album for Jaime, which also earned a nod for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
