Teyana Taylor dials in for the “1800-One-Night” video
Her new full-length The Album is out now.
Teyana Taylor's last music video for "Still" sparked quite a bit of controversy in our Twitter mentions when we posted it out; the clip features Taylor dressed as different victims of police brutality like Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. She wasn't the first or even the most famous artist to evoke Black death in a music video, but she still got most of the heat for it even if her heart was in the right place.
Her new music video for “1800-One-Night,” out today, seems unlikely to provoke as much conversation. Taylor again steps behind the camera to direct a small-slice-of-life scenario following a group of phone sex workers making their living in tiny cubicles. After a two-minute introduction, the steamy and spare R&B song begins. Check the video out above.
