The album, released September 4, features a stacked tracklist with guests including Stevie Wonder, Eminem and Erykah Badu lining up alongside Travis Scott, Jhené Aiko, and Young Thug. The record sold 103,000 units in its first week of release with 94.55 million streams contributing 71,000 of those sales. The additional 30,000 came from album sales (aided by merchandise/album bundles) and 2,000 in TEA units.

Detroit 2 held off competition from 6ix9ine’s TattleTales, which opened at No. 4 with 53,000 equivalent album units. The controversial rapper's first album since his release from prison moved 32,000 album sales and 20,000 SEA units (32.94 million on-demand streams).
