Teyana Taylor gives birth to second child
Taylor and husband Iman Shumpert welcomed their daughter via a home birth.
Teyana Taylor has given birth to her second child, a daughter named Rue. The news was announced on Monday by Iman Shumpert, Taylor's husband and NBA player.
“At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit.” Shumpert wrote on Instagram, explaining that, much like the birth of daughter Iman in 2015, Rue was born at home. “She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!! Now…when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy… but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital!”
The former Brooklyn Nets player added: “Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore! A healthy child. A little sister. Another daughter. Black love wins….again. Welcome babygirl…we love you!”
Taylor revealed her pregnancy in June, debuting her baby bump in the “Wake Up Love” music video. More recently Taylor dressed as Malcolm X, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor in her "Still" video. Her latest project, The Album, arrived in June. It features collaborations with Kehlani, Future, and more.
