Michael Stipe shares new song, “No Time For Love Like Now”
The singer-songwriter shared a demo version of the track.
Former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe took to Youtube to share a raw version of a new still-unfinished track, “No Time for Love Like Now.” In the post's caption, Stipe clarifies that the song is the first take of a demo version and sings the possible final lyrics over a guitar-driven instrumental. The song, which Stipe says is a collaboration with Aaron Dessner of the National, has no official release date, but it might end up serving as the follow up to his last two solo songs in recent months, “Your Capricious Soul” and “Drive to the Ocean.”
In the last few weeks in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, R.E.M.’s 1987 song “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” has seen a resurgence in popularity, even re-entering the singles charts on iTunes.
