Naomi Cowan reminds us to push through on “Climbing”
The Kingston singer wants you to never stop pursuing your dreams.
Introspection and empowerment go hand-in-hand for Naomi Cowan. The Kingston-based singer/songwriter offers an upbeat and motivational anthem titled “Climbing” which is a penchant reminder to always trust the process.
She recalls the moment during the single’s recording when another artist who happened to be a mother close by that brought their toddler to their session. Shares Cowan with The FADER, “I was in amazement of how she was multitasking; pursuing her dreams while providing the love and affection her two year old demanded of her.”
With the assistance of Trinidad producer Wiz and recent Grammy-award winning producer Sean Alric, the artist was intentional in creating a record that served as a catchy, toe-tapping mantra to persevere. “It sounds simple but it's facts,” she says on pursuing dreams. “Nuff times we get distracted by what we see happening around us and it can discourage us because we lose focus.”
But with her new single, Cowan reminds us to keep on climbing. Stream the record below.
