Kesha drops new album High Road feat. Big Freedia, Sturgill Simpson, Ke$ha
Kesha fuses her new cosmic country sound with her old-school Ke$ha stylings on her new record.
Kesha has released High Road, the follow-up to her 2017 comeback record Rainbow. Like that album, High Road is a mix of Kesha’s rowdy pop, cosmic country, and classic rock; it features collaborations with Big Freedia, Wrabel, Sturgill Simpson, Brian Wilson, and, on the song “Kinky,” Ke$ha — a nod to the slurred rap cadence she revives from the early days of her career on the song. The record is out on Kemosabe Records, the label Kesha has unsuccessfully tried to be released from over the past few years since alleging years of sexual and emotional abuse at the hands of the label’s founder, Dr. Luke.
