Chance the Rapper to host Punk’d reboot
The prank show will return on the mobile streaming platform, Quibi.
Another early 2000s favorite is set for a return. MTV's celebrity prank show Punk'd will be heading to new mobile streaming platform Quibi, with Chance the Rapper taking over hosting duties, according to Deadline. In addition to hosting, Chance will also serve as the show's executive producer alongside its creator Jason Goldberg.
“Punk’d is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises.” Chance said in a statement. “I grew up watching this show and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”
The show originally ran from 2003 to 2007, hosted by Ashton Kutcher who famously pranked stars like Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé. It would later return for brief, single-season stints on MTV in 2012 and again on BET in 2015. This time around, the Punk'd reboot is set to premiere in April when the Quibi platform goes live.
