Listen to Nez and ScHoolboy Q’s deep house jam “Wild Youngster”
Nez’s debut single arrives alongside an arresting, self-directed video.
Chicago musician Nez has been slowly building a profile for himself over the past few years, producing work for ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, Chance The Rapper, and more as part of his production duo Nez and Rio. Today, he’s breaking out on his own with his debut single “Wild Youngster,” a sleek and dirty deep house jam that, in a full-circle moment, features a livewire verse from ScHoolboy Q. Arriving alongside a magnetic black-and-white video, “Wild Youngster” is exhilarating late-night music. Discussing the track with The FADER over email, Nez said:
"I want to make people feel again. I want to make people dance. I'm creating my universe through sound. The feeling I got visiting Paris during fashion week and going to the afterparties. In my head, I was thinking 'what would Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss be partying to in the 90s with Gianni Versace.' House music started in Chicago, it has always had a major impact on me because that's the music that we grew up listening and partying to."
