Bambii’s “NITEVISION” is a celebration of women’s importance in the club
The Toronto-based DJ is making her debut as a producer with a dancehall club banger.
Back in 2017, Toronto-based DJ and host of popular party JERK, Bambii, provided The FADER with a beautifully-varied 40-minute long mix that stretched the possibilities of club music. On it, she made transitions from hard-hitting head thumpers, to reworking of Migos' career-defining "Bad and Boujee," to more conventional house numbers. It was the perfect reflection of an emotionally intelligent DJ who was fully aware of what would get people's bodies moving for nearly an hour.
Since then, those musical instincts have led Bambii to try her hand at producing her own music, which she is giving the world the first taste of today on FADER. The track we're premiering today is Bambii's debut as a producer and it's aptly titled "NITEVISION" for it making you feel like you're in a dark venue, with only the streams of neon lights shining down from its ceiling. The track finds Bambii in familiar territory as what she'd play as a DJ: club music and dancehall. Winding synths, pulsating drums, and faint sirens lay the perfect foundation for veteran dancehall deejay Pamputtae to bellow instructions on how women can hit their best wines and twerks.
"This is a club track for women because without us parties suck lol," Bambii said of the track in an email. Listen to "NITEVISION" below.
