Watch The National’s Matt Berninger cover Big Thief’s “Not”
Berninger took on the Two Hands single during a performance in Toronto this past weekend.
Last month, Big Thief returned with Two Hands, their second album of the year following UFOF. Matt Berninger, frontman of The National, is apparently a fan. He performed the album's lead single, "Not," this past weekend in Toronto at the 6th Annual Dream Serenade benefit. Berninger's cover (once it starts over at the 0:16 mark) stays relatively faithful to the original. Check it out below.
The National released their latest album, I Am Easy To Find, earlier this year, with an accompanying short film of the same name. More recently, Berninger teamed with Phoebe Bridgers for a new song called "Walking On A String" that appears in Between Two Ferns: The Movie.
