Morrissey says a protester at a recent show was “paid for and planted in the crowd by the British press”
There were, according to a caption on his website, “no ’politically offended protesters’” at his show in San Diego.
Morrissey — the former singer for The Smiths who has spent the latter part of his career parroting right-wing talking points, backing Islamophobic politicians, and eventually defending himself by saying that "everyone prefers their own race" — claimed this morning that a protester at his recent show in Oregon was "paid for and planted in the crowd by the British press."
The singer — who has referred to Chinese people as a "subspecies" and told Der Spiegel last year that Berlin was the "rape capital of the world” due to its “open borders” — posted a photo to his website this morning of the crowd at his recent show in San Diego with a caption that read: "no 'politically offended protestors' (as paid for and planted in the crowd by the British press) in sight..."
The post comes a week after Morrissey — who said in that same interview with Der Spiegel that “the modern Loony Left seem to forget that Hitler was Left wing" and then said that “halal slaughter requires certification that can only be given by supporters of ISIS" — kicked a protester out of his show at Portland's Moda Center. How and why, exactly, the British press paid for the person's presence at the show almost 5,000 miles away in the Pacific Northwest was not immediately clear from the singer's post.
