"Everybody got they inner Queen Key," says Chicago rapper Queen Key as she prepares to play host to a group of young women in her hometown. Key's empowering words ring out in each and every track she drops, from breakout hit "My Way" through to recent smash "Hey." She carries that energy through into her life away from music too, where she hosts Queen Camp, a regular get-together for high-school kids to share their goals and build a network of support around themselves.

In a new The FADER x WAV Present Frequencies mini-doc, Key offers a tour of Chicago, from cotton candy sellers to sold out shows, before allowing cameras into a Queen Camp meeting. "We spend a day focusing on getting to know each other and ourselves," she says of her time with the Chicago youth: "I just want them to know it is all good. Period."

Key says her unwavering belief in her own ability and ascension to the top was not always present and she's keen to help others get their quicker than she did. "All of the popularity? That's cool but that shit don't hold no weight," she says as the group enter the studio to lay down an uplifting anthem aimed at inspiring would-be queens everywhere.
