R. Kelly will face April 2020 court date in Chicago sex crimes case
He also faces charges in New York state and Minnesota.
A federal judge has set a tentative date of April 27, 2020 for R. Kelly's federal sex crimes trial in Chicago, The Chicago Tribune reports.
Kelly was arrested in July and accused of sexual abuse of minors and witness intimidation. He has pleaded not guilty, and is currently being held without bond. He will also face sex abuse charges in Brooklyn, Cook County, Illinois, and Hennepin County, Minnesota.
Authorities began to scrutinize Kelly after the premiere of Lifetime's docuseries Surviving R. Kelly. A second season of the show titled Surviving R. Kelly: The Aftermath is currently in production.
