Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Juvenile share new song “Ride Dat”
It’s the first song from Wayne and Birdman since 2016.
Birdman and Lil Wayne are together again on "Ride Dat," a new song featuring Cash Money Records rapper Juvenile. Listen below via Pitchfork. The song is part-romance, part-flex, over a Bounce-inflected beat from DRoc, and is the first Birdman/Wayne collab since appearing on Mannie Fresh's 2016 track "Hate."
"Ride Dat" comes after years of conflict between Wayne and Birdman. Tensions between the once-inseparable pair exploded in 2014 after Wayne accused Birdman and Cash Money of preventing the release of Tha Carter V. "I am a prisoner and so is my creativity," Wayne tweeted. Wayne went on to launch a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, culminating in a $10 million settlement. The pair reconciled soon after, and Tha Carter V was released on September 28, 2018.
Birdman and Juvenile previously collaborated for the album Just Another Gangsta, released in 2019. Wayne and Juvenile were members of the supergroup Hot Boyz with Turk and B.G.
