Leslie Jones is leaving Saturday Night Live
The upcoming 45th season will feature appearances from Eddie Murphy, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, and Woody Harrelson.
Saturday Night Live's 45th season is just around the corner, and this week, the show began to roll out a bit more detail on what to expect from it. Yesterday, NBC revealed an intriguing initial lineup of hosts and musical guests: Woody Harrelson and Billie Eilish will kick the season off, followed by the dynamic duo of Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Taylor Swift. Later in the year, Eddie Murphy will return to host for the first time in 35 years, whose addition to the cast resuscitated low ratings back in the early 1980s.
Though the full cast has not been announced, Leslie Jones announced today that she will not be returning for the new season. Jones has been an integral part of the cast since joining back in 2014, but all signs are pointing for a promising career outside of the show — she's got her own Netflix special due out in 2020. In other cast-related news, Alec Baldwin has confirmed that he will not be reprising his recurring guest stint impersonation of Donald Trump, but Kate McKinnon has confirmed that she'll be there for the new season.
The 45th season of SNL premieres September 28.
