The Cats trailer has arrived, whether you wanted it to or not
Catch Taylor Swift and Jason DeRulo as CGI felines this Christmas.
Just in case you haven't had your fill of CGI cats yet, Andrew Lloyd Webber's got you covered. This Christmas, his long running musical (which initially debuted back in the eighties) is getting a proper big screen adaptation. We've known the Tom Hooper-directed film has been coming for a while, and today, after yesterday's behind-the-scenes teaser, the full trailer has arrived, and it's about as demented as you could expect.
Though the two minute trailer doesn't offer too much by way of plot, it does provide adequate perspective on the CGI logistics of the whole operation. Each member of the motley crew cast — including Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, and Rebel Wilson — still looks extremely recognizable in the feline garb. Soundtrack wise, the trailer features a bit of Hudson singing "Memory." Still no word on whether we'll get to hear Jason Derulo meow out "Jason Derulo," but fingers (paws?) crossed on that one. Furries everywhere, have at it above.
