Gratuity is wrapped up in this soulful, reggae single by In.Digg.Nation collective signee, Lila Iké. The Manchester native provides a melodic dose of introspection through “Where I'm Coming From” where she reflects on her transition from the life she knew in the hills of her former parish, to the bustle of Jamaica's capital guided through the record’s punchy baseline. “This song means a lot to me as it summarizes my journey thus far — from humble beginnings in rural Jamaica, to moving to Kingston and deciding to go full hundred with my music, to where I am now,” says the artist over email.
Listen to “Where I'm Coming From” above and catch Lila alongside labelmates Sevana and Protoje on June 27 at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Park Show at Prospect Park in NYC.
