Beast Coast debate the best wrestling move to pull on Statik Selektah
“I don’t want no static with Statik.”
While many NYC crews have come and gone over the last decade, the Beast Coast movement has weathered many storms and still hasn't shown signs of fading away. The supergroup of Pro Era (Joey Bada$$, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, CJ Fly, and Powers Pleasant), Flatbush Zombies (Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick Arc Elliott), and the Underachievers (AKTHESAVIOR and Issa Gold) are finally giving their hungry fans what they want: a full-length album with all the members and a tour to boot.
But before they embark on that journey, The FADER invited all of the members for a special edition of Would You Rather. Broken up into three groups, they each answered their own tailor-made queries, but all three groups were asked the same question at the end: What's the best wrestling move to use on their beloved DJ, Statik Selektah?
This week's questions include:
1. AK, Powers, Erick, Nyck: Have a paparazzi follow you everywhere vs. A ring of security guards follows you
2. Kirk, CJ, Meechy: Enter a b-boy tournament vs. Compete on a reality dating TV show
3. Juice, Joey, Issa: Only be able to conduct business meetings in a strip club vs. Only be able to record music in the Times Square MTA station
4. All: Stone Cold Stunner Statik Selektah vs. People's Elbow Statik Selektah
Escape From New York is out May 24. Watch the full interview above.
