Kodak Black arrested at Rolling Loud Festival
The rapper was scheduled to perform on Saturday.
Kodak Black was reportedly arrested in Miami shortly before he was set to take the stage at this year's Rolling Loud Festival. The rapper was arrested on both federal and state firearms charges, police have confirmed. According to Miami news reporter Brian Entin, the arrest involved the ATF, Miami-Dade Police's Gang Unit and United States Marshals.
Attendees of the festival also took to social media to not only share that the rapper never took the stage for his set, but also posted footage of his arrest. Kodak has a long history with legal troubles, and was most recently arrested on drug and weapons charges when trying to re-enter the United States from Canada.
This isn't the first setback for Rolling Loud either, as Friday saw false reports of an active shooter on the grounds after a stampede that ensued after a fight broke out caused injuries to multiple festivalgoers. "Security and public authorities immediately sprung into action, established it was a false alarm and there was not an active shooter in the festival, and diffused the situation," the festival's co-founder said in an official statement on Saturday. "While we are upset this situation occurred, we are proud of the swift reaction of law enforcement to verify the area was secure."
Earlier on Saturday night, Lil Wayne canceled his set after he claims police on festival grounds insist he be "policed and checked".
Kodak is scheduled for his first appearance at the U.S. Courthouse on Monday.
