Reggae has always functioned as an audio snapshot of where Jamaica is socially and Protoje’s “Not Another Word” is his cautionary record worth a thousand words. Joining forces with label mate, Lila Iké, and fellow artist, Agent Sasco, “Not Another Word” is a conscious reggae record that doubles as a call for awareness on how our actions have implications beyond the self, sometimes impacting community and society.
Says the artist through email, “"When I started writing this song I knew I wanted guests on it with me. It just felt that way. Working closely with Lila, I knew her vocal would be a perfect fit to compliment myself and Agent Sasco. Sasco is someone that I've always wanted to do a song with and because of his extreme lyrical ability I knew I would have to be on my A-Game. I love how the song came out and sincerely hope the message of the song is not lost."
