Mac DeMarco announces new album Here Comes The Cowboy, shares new single “Nobody”
The full-length is due out on May 10 via Mac’s Record Label.
Mac DeMarco has finally given us some news on that album that he said would be released this year. Here Comes The Cowboy is the upcoming full-length's name, and it's set to drop on May 10 via Mac's Record Label — the singer's new imprint.
Along with the announcement, Mac also shared the album's lead single, titled "Nobody," along with a very weird, very minimal self-directed video, which sees DeMarco turned into a puke-green lizard man with a cowboy hat and a cigar.
When describing the album, DeMarco uses the term "cowboy" as one of fondness.
“This one is my cowboy record," he said in a statement. "Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren’t the people I’m referring to."
Earlier this year, DeMarco shared dates for a North American tour, which will kick off this May. Check dates for that here.
