Doja Cat talks early MySpace rap battles, practicing Hinduism, and more on First Times
Living in an ashram isn’t exactly cheeseburger friendly.
Doja Cat has been keen on using technology to her advantage, adopting Periscope early on to livestream silly live moments and music sessions. Combined with her sense of humor, her openness to share her life with her fans yielded her viral moment earlier this year with "Mooo!"
Doja Cat stopped by our NYC studio to talk about life before the cow suit for The FADER's First Times series. She discussed the work she put in battle rapping on MySpace via her babysitters, practicing Hinduism for a part of her life (and why it didn't work out), early struggles with her interest in makeup, and when she finally realized that she would be taking music seriously as a career.
