Kemba hits reset on his new single “Exhale”
The Bronx rapper links with Smino on the lead single of his upcoming project.
It's been a minute since we've heard from Kemba, the Bronx rapper who made waves last year after sharing the stage with Kendrick Lamar and freestyling on Peter Rosenberg's Hot 97 show. The "Already" rapper has been at work on his latest project, the followup to 2016's Negus, and today, he's sharing its lead single, "Exhale." The track finds him and Smino throwing caution to the wind atop a breezy, winding production from Frank Drake & Ivan Jackson of Brasstracks.
"'Exhale' is the feeling of being pulled in every direction by the people in your life," Kemba told The FADER. "You have your family telling you to be more like them, your girl saying be like what she wants, and the pressure you’re putting on yourself to follow your dreams. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and breathe."
Stream "Exhale" below, and stay tuned for more from Kemba.
