H.E.R. samples Aretha Franklin on “Let’s Get Away”

Later today, August 31, Aretha Franklin will be laid to rest in her hometown of Detroit in a funeral that will be live streamed and broadcast on TV. Rising R&B artist H.E.R. has marked the occasion by dropping a new song that samples Franklin's 1972 classic “Day Dreaming.” The stripped-back and melancholy "Let's Get Away" can be streamed below. H.E.R.'s I Used To Love Her: The Prelude EP was released earlier this month.
