The Meadows festival isn’t happening this year
But they’re hoping to return in 2019.
The organizers behind New York City-based festival The Meadows have announced that the festival will not return for its third edition this fall. The decision came down to location issues. "After two great years at Citi Field, we were excited to shift our venue focus entirely to Flushing Meadows Corona Park- the location we always hoped to move to in year 3," the statement reads. "However, after review of our application by NYC Parks, we were not able to obtain a workable multi-day permit."
The statement does note that the organizers are shifting focus for a festival in 2019. Over its first two years, The Meadows has hosted acts such Kanye West, JAY-Z, M.I.A., Grimes, The 1975, Erykah Badu and more. Read the entire statement from The Meadows below.
