Wireless Festival security guard fired after verbally abusing Lady Leshurr
A spokesperson for the festival confirmed the news.
London's Wireless Festival has confirmed that a security guard has been fired after Lady Leshurr shared footage of him insulting her at this year's event.
The annual festival, which took place between July 6-8, was headlined by J. Cole, Stormzy, and surprise guest Drake. Leshurr shared footage of an incident involving a security guard she encountered on the Sunday of the festival while trying to gain access to a car park and leave the site at London's Finsbury Park.
Leshurr alleges that the unnamed security guard verbally abused her while her Instagram clip features footage of the man using abusive language and laughing at her and her friends.
Sharing the video on Instagram, she wrote, “Last Night I Performed At @wirelessfest & Was Told To Leave Through The Car Park Where Our Car Was Parked By Two Female Security. The Green Door Is Where We Was Told To Go, But This Lil Guy Wasn’t Having It Cus He Didn’t Know I Was A Performer.
“And Because We Didn’t Leave He Threatened To Shoot Me & My People & Told Me To Suck My Mom. Look At Him Grabbing For His “Gun” He Kept Saying He Had Called Us Dumb Azz Ni**** Unprofessionally Trained & Hair Shorter Than His Career I Can Only Imagine How Many Other People He’s Did This To & Got Away With It!!!!!”
In a statement given to Metro, a spokesperson for Wireless confirmed that the guard in question has been removed from his position with the private security firm hired to work at the festival. “As soon as this unacceptable and disgusting behaviour was brought to our attention- the security guard in question was sacked,” the spokesperson said. “We apologise profusely to Lady Leshurr that she and her friends had to be subjected to such a vicious verbal attack.”
