This is what to wear on a spring day in New Orleans
At the city’s annual Uptown Super Sunday parade, no one was without strong shades and a comfy pair of sneaks.
On Sunday, March 25th, New Orleans residents of all ages took to the streets for Uptown Super Sunday, the first of two annual parades that celebrate the city’s Mardi Gras Indians. As Uptown tribes danced across the city in their highlighter-bright, feathered and jeweled outfits, spectators made sure to rock their own Sunday best.
Most opted for looks that struck a balance between style and practicality — form-fitting printed sets and jumpsuits, monochrome getups in ketchup reds and lemonade yellows, and full-denim fits with flair. The two crucial accents no one was without? Statement shades for those Louisiana rays, and a pair of clean and comfy sneakers for a full day of functioning.
