DMX ordered to serve a year in prison over tax evasion case
The rapper’s legal complications are far from over.
DMX's tax evasion case has resulted in serious prison time for the rapper. After being held in jail for the duration of his trial after failing a drug test, the rapper was sentenced to one year in prison, according to The Associated Press.
DMX, whose legal name is Earl Simmons, plead guilty in November to tax evasion. During the period of 2002-2005, it is alleged that Simmons evaded paying over $1.7 million in taxes.
