Los Angeles-based clothing brand Lykke Wullf is all about cowgirl cool
Calling all models/ranch hands...
Lykke Wullf — the Los Angeles-based line of Danish designer Jemma Swatek — understands whimsy. Swatek's collections are inspired by the minimalism of her Danish culture and the laid-back attitude of her adopted city, and with her Spring/Summer 18 collection, she taps into the allure of ranch style and adds a modern, storybook flair. Bolo ties morph into long sashes, tassels adorn western button-ups, and utilitarian denim gets the A-line treatment. It's dreamy wear for a ranch hand that maybe moonlights as a model when she's done lassoing up the cattle.
Western wear has staked its claim in menswear over the past year — thanks to a Raf Simons-led Calvin Klein, among others — and Lykke Wullf builds off this, all while shying away from the hyper-feminine silhouettes that traditionally serve as the womenswear equivalent.
